Showing enthusiasm and interest in the role is important, but take care not to set yourself unrealistic goals early in the process, particularly if the role is completely different to one which you have undertaken before. Some businesses will allocate a mentor to be your buddy to go to with general queries. Make use of that facility and if you are unsure of anything don’t be afraid to ask. I know that as a boss I would much rather be asked a question then have to deal with the mistake!
